SUMMARY We are working with a non-union manufacturer with over 100 years in business to identify a Quality Engineer. Reporting into the Quality Manager, this Quality Engineer will be a roll up your sleeves kind of person to train and lead efforts to ensure compliance to the company’s Quality Management System for the New Castle facility.
WHAT WILL YOU DO? • Support the Quality Improvement Process including participating on and leading QIP and JDI Teams. • Help to develop techniques, processes, and procedures for controlling and maintaining the level of quality demanded by present and future customers. • Ensure product non-conformances (NCM’s, Claims, Complaints) are dispositioned in a timely manner and provide status updates during Flow Meetings. • Ensure document and record control compliance with the QMS. • Oversee calibration system for inspection and testing equipment and other relevant certifications. • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 6S Initiatives. • Support the Maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100 and Nadcap Certifications including writing procedures (QAP’s & DI’s), Training New Employees and QA Administrative Requirements. • Perform Internal Quality Audits and participate in Customer audits. • Develop Corrective Actions to Quality problems. • Perform Data Collection and Analysis as needed. For example: time studies, process capabilities, product compliance, etc. • Generate Graphs, Diagrams and Technical Reports as required. • Lead and document monthly quality meetings to help drive continuous improvement.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED? • Associates degree preferably in Quality / Statistical Analysis or equivalent work-related experience. A four-year technical degree would be great! • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry preferably in Quality, Metallurgy, or Material Testing. Metals industry experience is highly preferred. • Ability to analyze large quantities of data and write analysis reports. • Ability to read basic machining drawings and specs. • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS 9100, and Nadcap requirements. • Strong working knowledge of basic quality improvement tools (construction of charts and diagrams). • Strong interpersonal skills focused on building relationships, gaining the respect of others, and working effectively as a team member. • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
