Senior Project Manager, IT PMO

 

Overall Purpose:

Definition and delivery of large programs/projects related to internal information systems. Applies expert understanding of IT processes and project management practices to delivery of projects. Supports the refinement of project management processes and solution delivery processes at DLC.  May provide oversight to other project teams.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages and prioritizes the project stream for assigned business areas, working with internal customers to determine project definition and business requirements.
  • Drives the definition and delivery of scope, schedule, and budget for complex programs or projects.
  • Provides financial analysis, resource allocation and coordination of project activities across functional areas within the organization.
  • Assigns and monitors work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget.
  • Actively manages risks and issues for the program/project.
  • Prepares status updates for senior leadership
  • Supports the DLC project management processes for project alignment and potential enhancements
  • Negotiates changes to baselines and business value delivery tradeoffs as needed during the project / program to maximize reliable delivery and business alignment.
  • May provide oversight and governance to other project teams delivering related projects.

 

Experience/Skills:

  • Successful delivery of large, complex programs/projects as project leader
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to all levels of an organization
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with project management best practices applied to technology projects
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with at least one solution delivery lifecycle (SDLC) process
  • Experience managing project financials, including: establishing the initial project budget, financial period updates/analysis, reporting on financials. Applies capital and operating expense accounting policies to financials.
  • Demonstrated experience with vendor management, including: vendor selection, contract creation, contract payment/changes, vendor oversight.
  • Understanding of solution architecture components for technology project
  • Experience with a PPM tool
  • Typically have at least 6-10 years of relevant experience
     

Education/Certification Requirements:

University / College degree.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certifications preferred.
