If you enjoy a fast-paced environment where your skills can have real impact, let’s talk! Smith Micro is looking for a Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our team!
The NOC provides 24x7 365 coverage for monitoring and maintaining our AWS infrastructure. As the first line of defense, you will monitor systems and validate alerts using our array of monitoring tools ensuring that we maintain our set Service Level Agreements (SLA) with our customers.
What you will do:
- Performing fault isolation, triaging and repairing network events to ensure the health of our AWS infrastructure
- Manage Trouble Tickets, Outage communications and process escalations for internal and external customers
- Enhance automation through scripting to improve team functions and efficiency
- Configure, optimize and fine-tune monitoring systems
- Incident response/resolving outages while maintain communications with other team members and stakeholders
- Work with Site Reliability and Development teams to ensure maximum uptime of the environment
- Coordinate and implement operating system patches and upgrades
- Managing deployments of application services using tools such as spinnaker, terraform and ansible
What you will need:
- A dedication to customer satisfaction
- A keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- AWS certifications and/or experience working with AWS basic services such as EC2, Route53, Load Balancers
- Experience with Kubernetes or AWS EKS services
- Proven ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with various monitoring tools such as Cloud Watch, Datadog, Zabbix, Elasticsearch
- Excellent documentation skills
- Ability to work in a dedicated shift (Hours are Wednesday through Saturday 2 pm - 1 am Eastern)
