This is a hybrid position located in Pittsburgh, PA. Our client is seeking a talented Account Director to join their team. The Account Director has ownership and responsibility for overseeing the planning, development, and execution of all work across the client portfolio. Within the client roster, this includes oversight of functions across account and project management, strategy, creative, public relations, social media, paid media, digital and accounting as it pertains to delivering client work on strategy, on time and on budget with profitability. This role shares responsibility for quality and profitability on each project within assigned clients.

They know how to inspire teams, communicate effectively to equally set vision and expectations, and understand how to navigate difficult discussions and situations when necessary. They know clients, existing and prospective, are the agency’s lifeblood and are eager and willing to jump in across prospecting, RFPs and pitches with a winning spirit.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set vision and strategy for clients and teams in close collaboration with the Directors’ Circle (department leads)
- Writes thoughtful and succinct briefs to define strategy for internal teams and knows how to evaluate work against them effectively
- Supporting agency operations through accurate forecasting, profitable client and project management and a growth mindset
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to set and manage internal teams and clients towards multifaceted, integrated project timelines and budgets
- Deeply understand, inspire, and guide teams in accomplishing client goals
- Perform day-to-day client leadership functions.
- Consistently and effectively communicate with the client across all levels of their organization, including C-Suite
- Ensure quality and consistency of creative product in collaboration with creative leadership and teams
- Understand and navigate client corporate cultures
- Take personal accountability for client satisfaction, proactively problem solve and engage senior leadership early on issues as needed
- Keeps management informed of all major initiatives or issues
- Effectively delegates and manages work across teams
- Provides mentorship and management of assigned account management team members and responsible for setting and meeting organic growth targets on accounts.
- Actively participate and at times serve as point person in new business activities
Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field
- 7-10 years of prior agency or marketing department experience
- Ability to develop strong, long-lasting relationships with all levels of clients
- Critical thinking to understand client needs
- Create, execute and adapt proactive client strategy to achieve goals
- Broad understanding of all communication channels, particularly digital with having a strong grasp of digital platforms and digitally led campaigns.
- Ability to help lead digital and social campaigns across a portfolio of brands on a day-to-day basis, working collaboratively with the Marketing Intelligence, Performance Media, PR and Creative Teams in developing and executing digitally led efforts.
