The University of Pittsburgh's Information Technology (Pitt IT) department is seeking a qualified Integrations Systems Developer for the Enterprise Applications Team. This is a technical position involving the analysis, design, development and testing of data integrations between University systems and vendor systems using emerging technologies. The incumbent will develop innovative design solutions and deploy projects using enterprise tools, such as the Jitterbit Harmony Integration Tool suite and Microsoft SSIS. An understanding of endpoint connectivity methods, transfer protocols, authentication, file encryption and modern cloud infrastructure is essential. The Integrations System Developer must have a high level of expertise in navigating various data sources, including but not limited to: RestAPI, Oracle database, SQL Server database, AWS s3, AWS RedShift, Cloud SaaS, SFTP and SSH. This position requires a strong background in the full software development life cycle process.
The Integrations Systems Developer must communicate and collaborate well with project teams and meet deliverable expectations and agreed upon deadlines. It is important that they can pleasantly engage with customers and determine a resourceful and efficient solution to meet their needs. Adherence to data security policies must be followed. Understanding of Data Warehouse / Data Lake environments a plus. The person in this role will help to build the Integrations team's API portfolio through thoughtful ideas and recommendations on best practices for ideal API design. Must have a desire to create thorough integrations that will handle exceptions and issues proactively. Must be able to multi-task, have strong technical problem solving skills, produce reliable documentation and be prepared to assume a role as a project lead. It is strongly encouraged the incumbent be comfortable navigating Linux, Windows and Office 365 products. Experience with any of the following a plus: Jitterbit, SSIS, Web Services, Java (Groovy, JDK), GitHub, Active Directory attributes, Shibboleth, Azure, AWS Firehose.
Equivalent combinations of education, relevant experience, and industry certifications may be considered per University guidelines.
At least two years experience with programming languages, programming tools and database systems.
