SUMMARY
We are currently working with a privately held trucking company to identify an experienced Sales Manager for the freight brokerage side of their business.
With over 60 years in business, this company offers a very family friendly, laid-back environment where everyone (including ownership and management) is very hands on, hardworking, and highly team oriented to help each other out. There are some unique benefits to working for privately held company that has about 100 employees in total. Unlike large corporate environments, they can offer more flexibility to their employees. Additionally, given the size of the organization, management is very accessible, and employees can go straight to the top should they have any questions or issues they would like to discuss.
This is a full-time direct hire opportunity offering a Monday – Friday daylight schedule, a base salary plus commission structure, and an above average benefits package to include 100% employer paid family medical and dental insurance.
POSITION
Reporting to the Vice President, the primary goal of the Sales Manager will be to grow the freight brokerage side of this business by generating business with new and existing customers, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Some essential duties will include:
• Proactively identifying and reaching out to new potential customers
• Receiving & requesting customer demands for loads via email or phone
• Working with a support person to ensure that loads are properly coordinated and prioritized by customer, and that driver availability is sufficient to fulfill customer needs
• Receiving & relaying pickup and delivery times, handling any last-minute changes that might arise
• Ensuring a certain level of product and/or number of trailers is maintained any given customer facility
• Relaying relevant information promptly to customers regarding delays in pick up/delivery times
BASE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience required to include experience in domestic freight brokerage, knowledge of equipment, and proven sales experience.
• Knowledge of DOT laws and regulations.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
