The Pitt IT Client Services (CS) Department is hiring for a Department IT Business Partner (ITBP) whose primary functions are to be a strategic IT leader and partner with the departments for which they are responsible.The ITBP will assist departments with their strategic initiatives and help to establish vision for future technology needs while aligning Pitt IT best practices, software, and solutions to the department whenever possible.The ITBP will keep communications open with the department stakeholders. Regularly scheduled stakeholder meetings are to be maintained; Department and IT initiatives, concerns, and updates are to be discussed.The ITBP will interact and maintain working relationships with all other Pitt IT teams to ensure that cases and projects are being handled appropriately to achieve and maintain high levels of department satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Leadership :
Understand and advance department objectives
Establish a vision for future technology needs
Direct strategic initiatives/goals
Analyze and evaluate IT resources and budgeting
Align available people and resources to tasks/projects
Facilitation: Establish standards for departmental software and enterprise initiatives
Conduct analysis on technology and business processes
Evaluate non-enterprise solutions for departmental use, directing departments towards Pitt enterprise software, solutions, and practices when possible
Review cases and case metrics
Elevate cases as necessary
Identify IT trends to better serve department needs
Communication: Maintain and manage regular contact with department stakeholders
Communicate Pitt IT Initiatives and service changes
Report status and updates to key stakeholders
Build positive working relationships with Pitt IT teams, directors, senior management and internal and external stakeholders.
Technical and/or relationship management experience.Combination of education, experience and/or industry certifications will be considered in lieu of listed education/experience levels.
