Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our strong Finance team. As the ideal candidate, you will be a positive team player who has in-depth knowledge of accounting, eager to develop, detail-oriented, and the ability to manage daily and monthly deadlines. You will be motivated to improve processes by analyzing data and driving automation.
This position would be part of our Americas finance team with a heavy focus on invoicing, month-end close, banking, sales tax, and reporting. This position will have supervisory responsibilities and you will be responsible to develop and coach team member(s).
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accounts receivable and cash application process
- Motivate and supervise team member(s), be responsible for their work products
- Perform and supervise various accounting functions, including invoicing, cash application, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Process project invoices and manual invoices related to progress billings
- Prepare and review journal entries and monthly reconciliations
- Perform daily and/or monthly banking responsibilities and reconciliations
- Provide special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Monitor daily transactions and recommend ways we can improve our financial health
- Drive automation and continual improvement of processes; implement automation of cash application through SK Global software
- Implement and maintain sales tax software (Avalara), which outsources tax filings and tax-exemption certificates.
- Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implement new processes
- Create and train on detailed process documentation, ensuring accounting implications of processes are clearly understood
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years accounting experience
- Experience utilizing an ERP system
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office
Preferred
- Manufacturing experience
- Experience in sales tax collection and reporting
- Use of Microsoft D365, Power BI
- Use of Avatax and Certcapture software
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
