Quality Control Supervisor – Manufacturing Division

Job Summary:
As the Quality Control (QC) Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring product compliance with all standard inspection and testing specifications for the Manufacturing Division. You will lead the Quality Control team of inspectors and collaborate with the production department on quality standards and the resolution of non-conformance issues. You will regularly report product quality information to senior management and manage the KJLC calibration and preventative maintenance programs. You will be an integral part of the Global Quality team and assist the Quality Assurance team in maintaining and adhering to KJLC policies, procedures, and ISO 9001 requirements.
Key Job Elements:
- Provide leadership and supervision to the Quality Control team and oversee the day-to-day activities related to in-process and final testing / inspection. Support the team by performing inspection and part evaluation when required.
- Oversee the inspection processes of products throughout the production lifecycle to ensure the product meets customer expectations and drawing specifications.
- Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Division colleagues, in a team approach, to address complex issues and utilize data from inspection results and non-conformances.
- Oversee and maintain the QC area and precision measuring equipment, including appropriate tool selection, training, and calibration. Implement lean/6S to ensure tools and equipment are clean, safe, and orderly. Utilize SPC to identify and mitigate process variation.
- Support the CAPA program(s) for the Manufacturing Division (i.e. hold tag database & CARs); review data for trends, ensure root-cause investigations occur timely, and provide training.
- Assist the Quality Assurance team with the KJLC internal audit program.
- Manage the KJLC calibration program.
- Manage the KJLC preventive maintenance program.
- Be a leader in workplace safety and sustainability. Ensure the appropriate safety protocols are completed for each work assignment.
Qualifications:
Required
- Technical degree or equivalent quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- A strong technical background in quality control, inspection, and metrology.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills (knowledge of 6S).
Preferred
- Knowledge / Experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System (or similar Quality standard).
- Knowledge / Experience in vacuum technology.
- Knowledge / Experience in Continual Improvement or LEAN methodologies.
