Eaton is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer for its Connected Solutions Innovation Development team as part of the Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions (CRDS) business.
This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility and offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 day remote). Relocation is offered.
Eaton’s Connected Solutions team is currently seeking a talented Electronics Engineer to create unique product solutions using a combination of analog and digital electronic circuit designs in support of our intelligent/connected product development programs. This role is linked with Eaton’s digitalization strategy and includes development of schematics and PCBA electronics hardware design, component selection, integration of firmware, documentation and product testing for applications and features in power management, communication (wireless and wired), intelligent data generation, remote control, diagnostics, IoT functionality, plus other areas.

In this function you will:
Lead electronic hardware development for smart, connected circuit protection devices supporting all project phases from requirements definition thru sustaining phases plus related project management tasks
Lead the design of analog and digital circuits, including power supplies, signal conditioning, and microprocessor support circuits.
Participate as a core global member of project teams
Serve as the technical bridge between electronics design and internal/external suppliers, assist with defining and qualification of electronic hardware test systems
Drive enhancement of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies
Representative on councils and committees tasked with developing codes and standards for emerging technologies
Perform technical evaluations of electrical components and assess opportunities to develop partnerships and/or new suppliers
Lead product certification activities and prepares project technical packages - UL/CSA/FCC and other regulatory compliance bodies
Act as a technical advisor to product line managers and/or manufacturing engineers throughout the process. Provides solutions and technical support to customers and sales team.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution
Three (3) years experience in electrical/electronic product development
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering, Computer Science from an accredited institution
Experience with power electronics
7+ years of experience in similar positions for electronic circuits design, PCBA hardware development and firmware integration into cloud-connected IoT systems
Prior experience using agile/scrum/sprint hardware product development methodologies and as part of a globally-distributed team of internal/ external developers and suppliers
Position Criteria:
Computer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with PADS, Altium and CAD tools
