This position earns a competitive base pay, paid semi-monthly, annual bonus potential, and receives company-restricted stock units (RSUs). A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Histotechnologist,
Reporting to the Histology Supervisor, daily duties will include collecting blocks for cutting, staining, processing tissue order for distribution and interpretation. This role will also help with gross and import dictations, stain, coverslips and deliver slides to the Clinical Services Team for distribution, tissue processing. Additional duties may include molecular extractions, inventory, waste management, QC, ordering, and lot-lot testing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Histotechnologist B.S. degree or Board Certified as Histotechnologist with Associates Degree in a science background, or equivalent with 4-7 years' experience, preferred in a clinical, research and/or development environment.
- The Histotechnologists in the clinical laboratory are placed on a track towards obtaining American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Histotechnician (HT)/Histotechnologist (HTL) board certification if not already credentialed upon hire and expected to obtain such a certification within 2 years of employment.
- At least 6 months (1 year preferred) of technical proficiency in histological methodology and specialized analytical techniques
- Demonstrated technical proficiency, scientific creativity, successful collaboration with others, and independent thought.
- Clinical Histology Lab methodologies, General regulatory requirements, laboratory techniques
- Laboratory QA requirements, Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases
- Daily involvement in performing scientific laboratory aspects including initiating, directing, and executing clinical production, which requires requiring advanced knowledge and exercises discretion and judgment.
- Prepare clinical sample according to scientific methodology and specialized analytical techniques in compliance with the CBI Laboratories Quality Assurance programs and SOP's, CLIA, and CAP
- Accurately manage specimen handling and processing according to standard operating procedures.
- Embeds, cuts, prepares and stains slides for research and clinical specimens.
- Uses Exemplar, laboratory LIMS to track patient samples.
