The Pittsburgh Technology Council is seeking an experienced sales and customer service professional to lead our membership sales and retention efforts.
Founded more than 30 years ago, the Pittsburgh Technology Council has a mission to support the success of regional technology businesses.
To achieve this goal, we offer four key services:
Talent Acquisition: Through our career connector and other services, the Council provides direct talent attraction support to more than 500 companies.
Business Development: Pittsburgh businesses from the fields of Life Sciences, Information Technology and Advanced Manufacturing are developing innovative solutions that are solving complex global problems. The Council prides itself on creating opportunities to connect local firms with national markets and customers.
Public Policy Advocacy: The Council seeks to represent the interests of regional innovation businesses relative to policies that impact the regional workforce, business taxation/regulation and the economic development of the Pittsburgh region.
Visibility: To create greater awareness about specific technology businesses as well as collective regional technology capabilities, the Council produces multiple publications, hosts a weekly radio show and works to engage the national media on behalf of our members.
In support of that mission, the Council seeks an experienced sales executive who can help to enroll those businesses that can directly benefit from one of our four key services.
In pursuit of this goal, the Council manages an aggressive member engagement strategy designed to create positive outcomes for our members and to engender a strong degree of customer loyalty to the organization. The Membership Services Director is prime driver of this strategy.
As we seek to grow our impact in the region, we also manage an efficient sales process designed to onboard new members of the Council. This is also a prime responsibility of the membership Services Director.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in B2B related sales and customer service and should have a background in managing a sales and account management team.
The Membership Services Director should have a strong interest in supporting the success of businesses and be comfortable using a consultative sales approach to onboarding and servicing our customers. They should have a strong desire to learn more about existing and prospective PTC members and to constantly seek ways to improve member engagement. Previous experience in a membership or trade association is a plus.
Proficiency with various desktop applications and sales management tools is required and experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Any person hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. upon hire.
