The IT Senior Auditor assists with developing, implementing and coordinating the annual audit plan. The IT Senior Auditor also will conduct, and may supervise, internal audits and Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404 testing either independently or under the direction of an IT Audit Manager and/or IT VP, Associate Director. This position also provides on-the-job training and performance feedback, as applicable, to the Staff Auditors. Audits are performed in accordance with Internal Audit policies, methodologies and the annual audit plan.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree required. Focus in computer science, management information systems or related field is preferred • Two (2) years of IT audit/risk experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Professional certification (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM, GIAC) preferred • Possess some knowledge and/or skills related to some of the following: o Knowledge areas: IT Infrastructure (including Cloud), Information Systems, Business Operations (including Resiliency/Continuity), Data Analytics, Process Improvement, Agile Principles, Project Management, Data Visualization, Cyber Security o IT Frameworks: CIS, COBIT, COSO, NIST • Proficiency in leading and performing risk-based integrated process audits. Specifically, understanding the objectives of the business, risks to the achievement of objectives and assessing the design and operating effectiveness of associated key controls • Strong oral and written communication skills to work with the auditee, co-workers and department management • Excellent attention to detail and critical-thinking skills to lead and train staff • Strong process facilitation, project management and analytical skills • Strong knowledge of banking laws and regulation is preferred PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / OBJECTIVES: • Documents an understanding of department/branch policies, procedures, and the internal control system • Performs audit program steps to test the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls • Documents audit testing concisely through the preparation of detailed audit work papers consistent with departmental standards and industry practices • Provides clear explanations of audit procedures performed, exceptions identified, and testing conclusions in audit work papers • Presents any irregularities to audit management, along with the proposed disposition. • Maintains effective and professional working relationships with the bank staff in audit areas • Assist the audit manager by providing management with timely communication of audit status and potential findings • Performs special projects and assignments under direction of department management • Identify process efficiency or productivity improvements and/or cost reduction opportunities • Has knowledge of and applies the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) • Serve as AIC on selected audits. Subject to Manager approval, this will include oversight of all planning, fieldwork, reporting and wrap-up tasks • Assist in evaluating Staff Auditor performance to identify future training needs, as applicable • Periodic travel may be required to complete assigned reviews, training, etc
