The Position
Residing in the Information Technology Services (ITS) department and reporting to the Director of Technology Infrastructure, the Network and Telecom Manager leads the Network and Telecom Team serving all three PennWest University campuses (California, Clarion, Edinboro). The ITS department promotes team-oriented collaboration and open communication, and the Network and Telecom Managerposition is instrumental to our success.
Example IT projects for the Network and Telecom Manager position might include …
· Working with ITS management and other stake holders to define long term technology plans.
· Leading efforts to upgrade core, distribution, and edge network hardware.
· Provide expertise to improve resilience of network services including WAN, Internet, Internet2, and other critical user-facing areas.
· Lead lifecycle upgrades Wireless Control Systems and Access Points

· Providing direct support for end-users including faculty, students, and staff
· Leading Network and Telecom team meetings, setting priorities, and prioritizing deliverables.
· Maintaining deep expertise in advanced networking (wired and wireless) and routing protocols and services.

· Managing Telephony and VOIP services
· Troubleshooting wired and wireless network issues

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field
Completion of a successful campus interview
Demonstrable knowledge of project management
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of network support experience (internships acceptable)
Strong team, communication, and project skills
Expertise with the configuration, development and support of Cisco, Alcatel/Lucent, Aruba network equipment
