Dollar Bank is hiring for an Assistant Vice President of Software Development. You will be able to showcase your creativity and put your development and leadership skills to use, making sure Dollar Bank customers have a great banking experience. You will contribute to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by managing development teams doing research, design, development, and implementation of computer programs that contribute to the solution of business problems or needs of the Bank. We are seeking an experienced programmer with advanced program design skills and effective leadership skills. The major emphasis of this position is to define and lead software development projects and mentor less experienced team members. This is a hybrid position.
Principal Activities and Duties:
•Prepares and assist with the creation and maintenance of all types of documentation. •Creates and maintains IBM JCL. •Writes COBOL code that accesses different file structures, including sequential files, VSAM and an IDMS database. •Communicates accurate task status to supervisor and peers. •Investigates and solves system problems, including off-hours calls. •Maintains working knowledge of the technological advances in the computer industry in general and Dollar Bank's computer environment specifically. •Reviews incoming enhancement requests and incident tickets to ensure they are properly assigned to individuals and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner. •Assists leadership in the estimation of project and enhancement development work that would be used for future planning and resource allocations. •Participates and assist management with budgeting exercises. •Exercises the usual guidance of a leader concerning staffing, performance appraisals, salary recommendations, promotions, and coaching. •Ensures team accountability by establishing both short term and long-term goals for self and team. •Leads development projects, ensuring the software delivered is a quality solution to the problem or task. •Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•College degree with concentration in Information Technology required. Will accept professional work experience in lieu of education. •Seven (7) years of experience in a programming environment required. •Two (2) years of supervisory experience is required. •Clearly proven analytical and relevant programming skills in Mainframe, COBOL (JCL, CICS, VSAM, IDMS highly desired) •Ability to work independently or with team members to turn requirements into design documents. •Ability to architect/design, code, unit test, and implement complex solutions to technical problems. •Ability to document deployment and backout plans for code changes going into production. •Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, peers, users and senior management. •Prior proven ability to give work direction, mange projects, and provide leadership to team members. •Candidate must be able to work under pressure and have proven ability to meet deadlines.
