eNGINE is seeking a Data Analyst to play a critical role in building and validating data logic that supports automated medical bill pricing and review. This position is heavily focused on writing, optimizing, and validating SQL used to implement complex rules and calculations within a regulated healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable living in queries, enjoys troubleshooting data issues, and can translate detailed business and regulatory requirements into precise, testable logic.
What You’ll Be Doing
Author and maintain advanced SQL queries that drive pricing rules, edits, and payment calculations
Use SQL as a modeling and design tool by drafting pseudocode-style logic to define business rules prior to full implementation
Translate regulatory and business requirements into structured, SQL-based logic that supports automation
Analyze large datasets to validate calculations, transformations, and regulatory accuracy
Create reusable SQL-driven test scripts to validate state- and module-specific pricing scenarios
Identify and diagnose data inconsistencies or logic defects, documenting findings and recommended resolutions
Collaborate with development and compliance partners to ensure SQL logic aligns with application behavior and regulatory intent
Optimize query performance and maintainability as automation scales
Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on SQL experience in an analytical or data-centric role
Proven ability to write complex queries using joins, subqueries, aggregations, and conditional logic
Good Excel skills - ability to manipulate formulas and write queries
Ability to work independently while managing multiple analytical priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when documenting logic and findings
Preferred Experience
Experience with MySQL or similar relational database platforms
Exposure to healthcare systems, insurance platforms, or medical billing / medical bill review processes
Prior involvement in automation initiatives, rules engines, or pricing logic frameworks
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and validation
Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of other analysts
