Overview of Responsibilities:
This is a corporate position in the Finance Department, reporting to the Accounting Manager and supervising team member(s). This position will have a hands-on role in the USA accounting (including daily transactions and monthly/annual close) as well as consolidation of foreign and domestic entities. This position will perform various accounting functions and supervisory roles, including but not limited to daily activity, monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, job costing, processing, and advising on inventory transactions, project accounting, and accounts payable. This position will provide accurate and timely financials and analysis to management, as well as analytical support. This position will be directly responsible for the training and supervision of accounting staff. They will interface with all levels of management and employees corporate-wide.
Key Job Elements:
Lead the department by setting an example of a strong work ethic and integrity
Own the accounts payable and inventory processes and oversee daily functions
Ensure work instructions are up to date and followed
Be accountable for the work products and completion of objectives by your team; review the end products and motivate team member(s).
Drive improvements in the accounts payable and inventory processes; working with your team and partnering with other departments to implement
Assists in the preparation and analysis of financial statements for North America and Consolidated, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
Have a key role in the annual external audit and physical inventory
Work with local and global finance personnel to continually improve finance processes
Process inventory journals and assist other company personnel with inventory/production issues, procedures and processes as required
Prepare and review journal entries and monthly reconciliations
Prepare various reports and analysis for external auditors and management
Proactively identify and investigate financial variances vs. budget
Stay current on new accounting standards and pronouncements
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years accounting experience
Strong communication and analytical skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office
2 years of supervisor experience
2+ years Public Accounting experience
CPA, CMA, or Advanced Degree
Use of Microsoft Dynamics 365
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and consolidation of foreign subsidiaries
