Founding Full-Stack Product Engineer (Equity-Only) — AI-Powered College Learning MVP

Equity-only (no salary at this stage).

This is a true early-stage founding role. Equity terms will be milestone-based and formalized in writing.

About the Product

We’re building an AI-powered college learning platform MVP that helps students improve outcomes with:

• Personalized learning 

• AI tutor

• Analytics 

This is an MVP currently built with Base44 and a single LLM integration (Claude). The goal is fast market validation. If traction/investment follows, we’ll expand into a more robust custom platform.

What You’ll Do (Day 1 impact)

You’ll function as a founding engineer and builder, shipping weekly (or faster) by:

• Building and iterating MVP features end-to-end in Base44

• Implementing and improving our Claude integration (prompting, guardrails, evals, cost controls)

• Designing lightweight data structures for: classes, assignments, mastery tracking, student profiles

• Creating clean UX flows for onboarding, class setup, assignment generation, quiz help, and mastery views

• Adding basic reliability: error handling, retries, logging, and “safe mode” fallbacks

• Implementing product analytics: activation, retention signals, feature usage, success metrics

• Establishing minimal QA practices: test cases, prompt regression checks, release checklist

• Helping define the “next architecture” for after validation (without overbuilding now)

What Success Looks Like (first 30–60 days)

• MVP workflows are stable and demo-ready (onboarding → class → assignment → quiz help → mastery)

• Claude outputs are measurably better (lower hallucinations, better alignment, lower cost)

• Instrumentation exists: we can see usage and validate what features drive value

• A prioritized backlog exists with “validation first” experiments

Working Style

• Fast iteration, lightweight process, heavy bias to shipping

• Direct collaboration with the founder on product decisions

• Short feedback loops with real users as early as possible
