About the Role
This team manages Linux platform, and has recently launched an Automation-as-a-Service offering leveraging Ansible and Cassandra to support internal software development efforts.
The Linux Systems Engineer will play a critical role in expanding automation across the enterprise, with a focus on RHEL, Ansible, and infrastructure standardization. This person will work closely with the Lead Architect, contributing to both day-to-day operations and long-term automation strategy.
What You’ll Do
Support and maintain RHEL 8.10 systems across on-prem and virtualized environments (VMware).
Design, build, and maintain Ansible playbooks and pipelines to automate provisioning, configuration, and patching of Linux and Windows systems.
Collaborate on efforts to integrate Active Directory (LDAP) with Ansible for centralized access and management.
Participate in defining and maintaining golden images and environment standards for Linux infrastructure.
Contribute to automation strategy by building out Windows playbooks and bringing Windows infrastructure into the Ansible ecosystem.
Support security hardening, patching, and remediation efforts across multiple Linux flavors.
Work with business partners to resolve environment and deployment issues, improve Dev-to-Prod migration processes, and ensure best practices around NFS, permissions, and file transfer security.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience supporting and automating Linux environments (RHEL preferred).
Proven experience with Ansible (playbook creation, pipeline automation, CLI or Tower experience).
Familiarity with VMware integration, Active Directory/LDAP, and infrastructure automation best practices.
Understanding of golden image creation, OS hardening, and release management processes.
Scripting or automation language proficiency (YAML, Python, or Shell).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders.
