We are looking for an information technology applications developer.
This position is on-site with a manufacturer in Saxonburg, PA. This established company has around 150 employees, and a positive team oriented can-do culture. This person will report to the IT Director, and compliment his skill set (which is not in programming), to provide for all the company IT needs. So, we are looking for someone with at least 4 years of work experience in programming and database management, to include a strong knowledge of SQL, Visual Basic and macros in Microsoft Access
This person will figure out how to build more custom applications for the production facility and corporate office.
Essential responsibilities include:
Deciphering and running queries in existing SQL code, modifying code to fix problems, and making code improvements. Working with Visual Basic code and macros in Microsoft Access.
Figuring out how to upgrade older systems. Research new versions, review release notes. Analyze to see how/if the system interacts with Access, and what changes may need to be made in the existing Access structure. Migrate Access databases to web based systems that are more user friendly to employees.
Development and maintenance of Microsoft servers, portals and hosted websites.
Interacting with end users and understanding how they use the software to make changes to applications.
Back up the IT Manager with end user calls, troubleshooting and training. Updating end user computers, such as installing Windows, security updates, hardware changes etc.
Salary range 75-95K, plus profit sharing, which historically has been about 5 percent of salary. Full benefits package includes fully paid healthcare benefits for a family!
Weekly work schedule is Monday- Friday either 7am- 4pm or 8am- 4.30pm (little to no overtime). On site in Saxonburg PA, you must be able to commute to this location daily. This person will need to visit the small North Carolina plant two or three times a year.
Requirements:
At least four years of programing and database development experience in a company, and a degree in information technology (or equivalent experience). We are looking for a strong knowledge of SQL and Visual Basic with macros in Access.
Must be able to pass a preemployment background check
Preferences:
An understanding of ERP software, SharePoint and business analytics would be helpful, but is not required.
