Role Overview

eNGINE is partnering with a Pittsburgh-based enterprise that has established a forward-looking artificial intelligence roadmap and is actively moving from strategy into execution. This team is hiring experienced AI Engineers to transform defined concepts and requirements into real, production-ready solutions.

This role is ideal for a software engineering professional who has evolved into AI delivery—someone comfortable writing code, architecting solutions, and collaborating directly with operational stakeholders. You’ll help translate business needs into scalable generative AI capabilities while laying the groundwork for future agentic platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver enterprise generative AI applications from concept through production deployment
• Translate functional requirements into technical AI solution designs aligned to enterprise architecture standards
• Build integrations between large language model platforms and internal applications, data platforms, and workflows
• Develop and optimize prompt strategies, orchestration logic, and contextual grounding techniques
• Partner with business teams to uncover automation and augmentation opportunities powered by AI
• Engineer reusable components, accelerators, and design patterns to streamline solution delivery
• Implement operational processes supporting model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Conduct structured validation activities including performance measurement and output quality analysis
• Contribute to secure, compliant AI adoption aligned with enterprise governance expectations
• Collaborate with cloud, data, and cybersecurity teams to ensure resilient solution design
• Research emerging agentic frameworks and experiment with next-generation capabilities
• Produce technical documentation covering architecture, data flow, and operational support models

Required Qualifications

• Background in software engineering with strong development capabilities in Python or Java
• Hands-on experience delivering enterprise generative AI solutions in production environments
• Direct experience with AWS Bedrock and/or Azure AI Foundry & Copilot
• Understanding of application architecture and enterprise data ecosystems
• Experience integrating AI services through APIs and service layers
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval frameworks
• Knowledge of modern AI solution patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment methodologies
• Ability to operate comfortably in both technical and business discussions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing AI accelerators such as prompt libraries or reusable service frameworks
• Familiarity with model evaluation techniques and output risk mitigation approaches
• Exposure to knowledge graphs or semantic data structures
• Experience working in regulated or governance-heavy environments
• Understanding of MLOps tooling and model lifecycle processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or similar discipline
• Relevant AI or cloud certifications
